Ok, this is a little bit of an unusual post but I want to get you thinking deeply.
HERE’S AN UNUSUAL QUESTION? Take a look at the title of the book.
Are you wondering why I chose to title the book;
“Fixing my Fattening Life?”
Any thoughts? Why my Fattening life?
Did your mind immediately think about maybe I meant my physical self, the way that I looked and the shape of my body? This is a big reason why we binge eat. We are always thinking about our shell, but let me dive deep into a few bible verses to seek wise counsel in the bible from the Lord so that He can reveal to you what matters most to Him, ok?
Well for starters, the word “Fattening” in the title refers to my self satisfying, self fulfilling, indulgent desires and just thinking ALL about what I wanted. The only thing I wanted was things that would make me feel comfortable and to satisfy my inner cravings.
The word “Fattening” was about me. I was always focusing on me and just feeling bad for myself or completely shutting the door on myself. I chose to decide to not take action to care about what I did and choosing to ignore how binge eating, sugar and weight gain would make me feel.
You see, many of us have lived too much for ourselves and by ourselves in the midst of our frustration and struggles. We have accepted no relationship and no authority by letting God into our life in this particular area when it comes to what we eat in order to live a healthy life within.
We read in Psalm 16:7-8 tells us that God counsels us. So, when I counsel my clients I want them to know I am just the vessel that is holding their hand and guiding them along the way. They need to know that God wants the best for them and He looks upon the heart not our body. Of course God wants us to be healthy and vibrant but he cares about our whole soul.
I will praise the Lord who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will never be shaken. Psalm 16:7-8
You might sometimes feel out of control, but even in those moments you have something solid to reach toward. God's love comfort and strength is always there and HIS wise counsel will help you to see and understand your thoughts. Thing is we are unaware of believing and so we need more faith.
Instead we choose to live on our own impulses [something i did for years] because we just don’t want to put forth the effort or we feel that perhaps God is not real enough or that this area of our life is not important enough to pray about. For various reasons we stay in it alone working the old patterns and soon we become depressed and frustrated especially when we have to be around other people and events that do not follow our preferences.
When we are willing to admit that we need a deeper sense of direction and we begin to talk about these binge eating problems to God about our real problems and God all of a sudden becomes real life. When we choose to become committed the word FIXING [the title of a book] is an action word. The minute you close your eyes and begin to pray and think deeply, new life will begin to emerge with peace and a new thought process.
The thought of removing [sugar] junk food will make you feel better and live better. It will make you feel in line with your creator and have better balance and balance your blood sugar and your moods thus reducing your urge to binge.
When you eat the right way, you live the right way. God’s way! The way he intended for us to live. Real food and real faith because God wants us to get real with him.

Bible verses - 1 John 2:15-16
Do Not Love the things in the World
15 Do not love [crave] the world nor the things [junk food] in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust [wanting] of the flesh and the lust of the eyes [wanting of temptation] and the boastful pride of life, [I can do it on my own] is not from the Father, but is from the world.
1 Corinthians 3:18
18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seems to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
[Seeking God for wise counsel] to live a life of Real Food Real Faith Lifestyle.
Closing bible verse: Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light (Matthew 11:28-30).
Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus: I pray that I can bring my eating habits into alignment with you so that I may eat solely for strength and nourishment that I may serve you better all the days of my life. Amen
