faith quotes and bible verses to help eating healthy again! Ok, But have you asked yourself, why don’t you take action? My guess is that you overly think your way to not take any action at all. If this sounds familiar don’t feel bad. I’ve been there more times than I care to remember. Look, it’s easy to set a big goal but achieving it is another story. The hardest part is actually taking the first step to turn your dream into a reality. Usually, after you a set a huge goal, you realize the size and work required to complete the goal. Then, doubt enters your mind. The fear of looking like a failure creeps into your brain. You begin to doubt that feeling amazing about yourself and perhaps excited about your food, mood and faith is even possible. As Suzy Kassem Quotes, “Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will.” Think back to a time you had a project that you craved the result. You knew if it happened, everything would change in your life. You might have made an outline and took tons of notes. If you really prepared, you probably even bought a few books, courses or talked with people who are already doing it. But then, three to six months go by and you realize you haven’t made any progress at all. Trust me, I’ve walked the same walk... Be Careful About Over ThinkingComplexity is the enemy of execution. If you have a big goal or project you want to complete, don’t focus too much on the end goal. Otherwise, it’s easy to feel stressed, overwhelmed, and become paralyzed with fear. This leads to never taking action in the first place. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, chunk it down with creating small steps that will help you achieve the goal. Achieving these healthy goals will build confidence and momentum. As the great Mark Twain said, “The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex, overwhelming tasks into small, manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one.” This allows you to make progress and get satisfaction each time you complete a mini goal. Each mini goal completed also releases the feel-good chemical dopamine which motivates you to keep going. So why do you and so many others over think in the first place? My guess, the fear of looking like a failure. Understand It’s Okay to Fail So many people want the convenience of transformation without the inconvenience of failure along the way. It’s impossible to get great at anything without failing. Failing is part of the process of success. As the legendary motivational speaker Les Brown said, “You have to fail your way to success.” The need to look perfect is all about you. Somehow we need to get passed that. It’s your unhealthy need for approval and the fear of failure. But this fear can hold you back from achieving greatness. To overcome this fear you need to find what’s holding you back. Are you over-thinking that it’s money holding you back? Is it time that's holding you back? For myself I knew I should start creating deadlines for my short-term goals. Perhaps setting aside time for prayer, bible study and writing in my journal to learn more about myself, my thoughts, my eating habits and my feelings. I knew I had to do something and put aside my thoughts of, “well maybe someday”.... These are commonly the two top reasons and can become your excuse. I danced around for years instead of telling myself “I’m worth the time and money” and then create a short-term savings account that I knew was going to be an investment in my wellness, body, mind and spiritual life. Ask yourself today. Am I worth investing in time to learn, grow and change to get out of this place of frustration?
