Cooked in one skillet, and if you're using a large skillet and can cook a large batch and freeze all of the fried chicken tenders for quick easy meals on busy days.
Seasoned with KFC original spice recipe that includes garlic powder, onion powder, ground ginger, celery seed, paprika, oregano, and salt, just to name a few and I mean they're packed with incredibly flavor! Made without flour and with no double dipping with egg wash making them gluten free, paleo, keto, and low carb! Ingredients
Chicken tenders - Boneless, skinless; the recipe calls for 1 lb., but you can easily double it if you want to make more.
Almond Flour - I like using blue diamond extra fine, almond flour. I find it is the best price for a nice big bag. Arrowroot Flour - this is the glue that makes the almond flour stick without having to double dip your chicken. Oil - I used olive oil, but any kind should work. KFC SPICES - into a bowl, mix well. Combine Paprika (1/2 Tbsp) Dried Thyme (1/2 tsp) Ground Ginger (1/2 tsp) Garlic Powder (1 tsp) Dried Basil (1/2 tsp) Dried Oregano (1/4 tsp) Celery Salt (1/2 tsp) OR Celery Seed Dry Mustard (1/2 tsp) Ground Black Pepper (1/2 tsp) (optional) Ground White Pepper (1/4 tsp) Salt (1 tsp) (I like to make a triple batch in advance and store some for the next time I make these.)
Step-by-step directions:
Step 1: Add 5-6 tablespoons of olive oil in the frying pan and placed the heat on medium and let the oil heat for about two minutes. Caution do not let olive oil heat to the point of smoking. If you see the oil is getting too hot, turn the heat down immediately. Step 2: in a shallow dish. In a small bowl, stir the spice mixture together into the almond flour and arrowroot flour. Step 3: Rinse the chicken in cold water and light pat some of the water off. You want the chick damp, but not wet. Step 4: Place half of the flour mixture in a flat place to coat the chicken on both sides, placing one at a time in the frying pan and pay attention to the time on the stove, I generally let them fry for at least four minutes on each side. Step 5: This last step is optional, I like, adding a little bit of infuse garlic, olive oil at the end just for extra flavor. Enjoy!
