When life gets in the way we lose sight of our priorities and your health has to be on the top of your list. Too much responsibility is not good because it makes you feel tired and worn out and before you know it everything is out of balance. Your energy runs dry, your emotions are more down than up, your not sleeping the same and of course your eating is less than nutritious and satisfying.
Not taking care of yourself to eat healthy nutritious meals can lead to a number of health issue's like high blood sugar, too much weight on your joints which leads to arthritis and the risk of many forms of cancer. So, let me assure you that with a little effort to think ahead of time and the desire to practice a good routine to commit to taking care of yourself, you'll be setting yourself up for success long term. Ok, I get it. There are errands to run, appointments to fill, people to meet up with, children and parents to take care of, in addition to and eight hour a day job. So today's question is how do you create a balanced life that brings about a healthy lifestyle that will satisfy your cravings and keeps you feeling confident about your weight loss and healthy eating goals?
For starters you don't have to find excuses for giving up. You don't have to spend more time at the gym to burn calories because you keep gaining weight. You don't have to throw in the towel because you just too darn tired. This is what you have to give up the "DIET MINDSET" the diet starts tomorrow, or the "hey i just have way too much going on".

As Christians we have to look at our thought process. I call excuses "the reasoning's in our mind." We find reasons to not do the right thing. Satan has a way of convincing us to not do the right thing and we feel like we will still feel good at the end of the day, right? Not so. Our mind gets distracted and the world has a way of distracting us too, especially when we get too tired. I know I've been there and done that. Once I started to see my excuses getting in the way I realized how bad I was hurting myself both physically and mentally. I would get depressed, have mood swings and my character was not where God wanted me to be. You see Christian weight loss examines the heart, soul and mind and that's what we do in the Real Food ~ Real Faith Lifestyle program. I needed to make some serious changes, but it all had to be for the right reasons. I knew that if I could make some healthy changes I would feel better especially if I prayed about it. It first starts by admitting our excuses to God then making a conscious effort to plan ahead and not fall into what I call, "accidental eating." I came to the decision that I wasn't gonna put off not being responsible by putting my life at risk and end up feeling like "CRAP". Ok I said it. Can you relate? START HERE: You don't have to go on a strict diet to lose weight and eat 'healthy‘. It’s time to say goodbye to diets and ditch the all or nothing way of thinking. Quick fixes are the way we think of diets and rarely offer long-lasting or satisfying results. If they were useful, we wouldn't be making the same resolution every January and year in, year out. Not only is yo-yo dieting damaging to our emotions and an unhealthy practice, but we end up gaining and losing weight in a short period of time. Talk about unstable. We lose our way and we develop a negative mindset that snow balls to bigger problems. Truth is the $60 billion industry has told us that dieting is the answer, but that is a ploy to get you to buy their products like special drinks, oh and how about GOLO and Nutri-System just to name a few. Americans invest about $33 billion each year on weight-loss products, yet nearly two-thirds of Americans are overweight or obese. Clearly, the diet culture isn't working for us. The way we choose to eat should be a new way of life. We should look at a healthy way of eating like it is medicine for our soul. What we consume will not only nourish our body but we'll also benefit far beyond the reflection in the mirror. A diet should a healthy habit, not a focus on "MY SEXY SHAPE" a routine which becomes a part of our lifestyle, the way we live and a way that pleases our Lord Jesus Christ. In time our habits become our normal way we function from day to day and we realize when we feel satisfied it becomes sustainable and realistic.
