10 Tips To Effectively Stop Binge Eating Through Prayer

Hi Renee Dumont here founder of Conquer cravings for Christians I’ve been training individuals to develop a healthy lifestyle change through faith for over 24 years and I'm so glad you made it to my blog today.  If you’ve been struggling with binge eating, overeating and out of control food cravings, then I am so glad that I can share 10 tips to effectively stop binge eating through prayer to point you in the right direction.

Know that the God given gift of prayer is a positive force; worry is a negative force. The reason many people operate at zero power to overcome temptation of eating is because they cancel their positive prayer power by giving into negative feelings and mindsets. Many times when I gave into my binge eating habits it was always because I was lonely and mostly I felt sorry for myself.
​

As long as you are feeling sorry for yourself or not paying any attention at all to what’s going on with the way you think then you are not trusting God or believing that he wants the best for you. It is only when you decide that you want to trust God to teach you a what better way that you will be able to gain faith and confidence through God's love and direction. When you begin to follow God‘s direction you will find rest and peace in the midst of your prayer that transcends all understanding.

I know what it’s like to feel stuck in a rut with those craving out of control eating episodes. And I’ve learned over the years and have taught my students that we are not to pray for the bad things that are happening in life but to pray for an increase of the spiritual things that we need to be a true conqueror.

If you’re like most of us when you’re in a rut and your feelings are down and out like you’re in a dark place finding the will to even pray can be a challenge. So we begin by asking God to increase our desire to grow in our faith. God promises us to ask him anything and it will be given so do you know what to Ask for when you pray?

If you’re not sure then here are 10 tips that I know will get you going in the right direction and may God bless your weight-loss journey. Keep asking and soon your prayers will effectively help you to stop binge eating all in the name of Jesus. So let's take a look how to pray....

  1. Pray to seek God’s face and have a closer walk with Him
  2. Pray for an increase desire to resist intense cravings 
  3. Pray to be more joyful giving thanks always
  4. Pray To invite the Lord to create in you a clean heart & renew a right spirit
  5. Pray for an increase desire to create and commit to morning routines ​

  6.Pray for an increase desire to set time aside to worship God in songs and        hymns
  7.Pray for an increase desire to seek God’s wisdom to lose the weight
  8.Pray to help you stop thinking of your outward appearance. 
  9.Pray for an increase desire to humble yourself and admit eating mistakes
 10. Pray for a positive mindset-whatever is true honest just pure lovely and of good report think on these things. Bible verse Philippians 4:8


Start by praying for a desire to seek God‘s face. The word 'seek' means to constantly crave to see God‘s face so that his presence becomes real in your life. Pray that His presence becomes real and that you want to have that reality every single day in your life. When you pray to seek God closer you will have a deeper more loving relationship with him. His love, his peace will fill you and soon binge eating habits will begin to slip away.

That’s why if you’re struggling right now with a negative mindset, negative emotions and a poor attitude, begin by praying the 10 tips above and trust that God would give you an increased desire. God answers all prayer and because it’s in alignment with heavenly things, the good things that God wants for you soon you’ll start to discover new desires that you didn’t think were possible before. The Bible says in every situation no matter what your circumstances are to be thankful and continually give thanks to God. But this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. Satan wants you and I to complain and have negative thoughts and feelings about ourselves and about others. That’s how we keep ourselves stuck because we don’t want to see anything beyond that. But if you want to get out of the rut and have a better life then it’s important that you begin to rise above your problems by praising God. Believe that better things are waiting for you, that’s why it’s important to always remain thankful.
