So The Weekend Has You On “Wait” Loss |            3 Steps To Stop Sugar Cravings

No that wasn’t a typo, I really meant the weekend set you on the wait loss path again, not weight loss and kept you craving sugar and those delicious tempting unhealthy carbs. So, here we are again on the wait loss path, waiting to lose our fat storage.
I ate out and my food choices were outside of my boundaries. You know, when they bring that nice little warm loaf of bread and everyone just dives  in. Well I am guilty of it.  In the past I would be so quick to beat myself up, get depressed and hate what I see in the mirror. I would probable neglect to pay attention to my food consumption, thinking it just might be easier if I pretend there’s not a problem. Then i might end up eating more to make myself feel better.
The next day i would plan a super low-calorie diet to punish myself and vow to only eat ‘x’ or ‘y’ all week until I got back to my goal weight. Then I would question my commitment to God and finally waste a bunch of time on the internet looking for the perfect plan that I could stick to. Does any of this sound familiar?
In the past, this set me up to live in frustration and to some extent, anger, but praise God I’m at a place where I can quickly and effortlessly get back on track. Nowadays, after growing and developing mentally and emotionally i have the pleasure of knowing I have learned new habits and skills.
There in NO MORE jumping on the scale, or looking in the mirror and hearing myself have thoughts of hating what I see. In fact, i have learned that my focus needs to change on what and who I need to focus on.  I don’t torture myself with condemnation and extremely emotional distress.  We have a tendency to make our health journey a lot more emotional than it needs to be. Let’s stop wasting time beating up and wasting our money on junk. You are not junk and you are so loved by God. God gives us the strength to turn away from in our self-pity and we can just get back on track as soon as we can.
In the bible we read in ROMANS 12:2 - Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. That’s right, we need to put some quiet time aside every day to rid of that ‘stinkin thinkin” and recognize that we will at times stubble and fall, but we need to be willing to get back up and stay in the race.

Start by Talking to God and Decide To Take Responsibility For Your Health!
  • As soon as possible, take some time and remember why you’re on this health journey and why it’s so important to you.
  • Renew your commitment to God and let Him know your desire to glorify Him in your body through the foods you eat and by being active whenever you can.
  • Ask God to INCREASE your desire to do His will and to help you desire the "BREAD OF LIFE" more than you want food for comfort.
Restart your plan of eating!
  • Eat a healthy meal, not a ‘punishment meal’ and not a ‘diet meal’. Just go back to what you know what to do. Remember, plan what to do, and do what you plan. So start writing a food journal. Measure you food if you have to. I like doing this to RETRAIN my eye to go back to healthy portions. I even measure the food I feed my cat and my dog, so why not measure my own food so i can stick to being honest with myself as often as possible.

We often quit because deep down inside we have a fear that we will not succeed. The best way to overcome this fear is to take action despite the fear.

If you ate outside of your boundaries last weekend or yesterday, quickly get back on track by implementing these 3 very simple steps. Don’t overthink it, use your spiritual muscles by inviting the Holy Spirit and listen to some worship music and let the comfort of the Holy Spirit be your food for thought and spiritual growth.
