The answer is YES! The real culprit that is taking down our health and destroying life is SUGAR and any form of food containing a combination of wheat, sugar, and fat. Truth is, America does not RUN on Dunkin’. We ONLY run into trouble with our health and the consequences can be fatal. When we eat sugar out blood sugar spikes and when we crash, we want more. Some people have a genetic condition related to the elevation of serotonin causing a vicious cycle of the sugar fix that is scientifically proven. Some people have to go to great lengths to stay away from these addictive foods.
I am a recovered sugar-aholic since attending my first Overeaters Anoymous meeting at age 11 in 1972. I had many thoughts of pain and struggle. It’s something you never forget. INSIDE THE MIND OF A FOOD ADDICT:
Eating until I’m stuffed or drugged to sleep.
Not able to predict when the binge will stop.
Knowing i am sick dieing scared and angry.
Craving sticky greasy food. Eating to feel better and always feeling worse.
Feeling helpless and hopeless.
Eating for comfort and believing food is my friend.
Lying to myself and others.
Hating how i look and feel.
Full of shame and hides to eat treats.
Questioning why i am so weak.
