As They Say In OA- Plan What To Do &...
Here's a great saying from Overeaters Anonymous that has stuck with me since i was 11 years old.
For Today, I Will "Plan what to do, and do what you plan".
This is all about realistic baby steps.
So, plan on "CRUSHING THE CRAVE" one baby step at a time!
The easier the changes can be for you, the easier it will be to make them stick.
One of the most important things you can do for your health is to plan ahead.
Planning ahead is one of the most important key to reaching your goals, and maintaining your ideal weight. It will also become a natural part of your weekly routine. You will find that planning ahead brings you a greater sense of contentment.
You know the saying “When you fail to plan, you plan to fail,” right? I find this to be so very true when it comes to leading a healthy lifestyle. It does take a little planning, but it’s well worth it. The best part is that it will usually save you time and stress down the road.
You’ll want to look at your week ahead of time (probably on Sunday morning), so you can be proactive with finding time to exercise and prepare healthy meals. What do you need to have ready for the week in order to be more prepared?
What days and times can you exercise? On those super busy days, can you find 12-30 minutes for some kind of physical activity? Maybe try one of my 12 minute SUPER FUN circuit training routines, pick out your top songs that will get your blood pumping, or take a prayer walk to talk a the one who loves you most. How about trying a strength yoga work out at home.
Now go ahead and plug your options into your calendar as if it’s an important appointment, so you don’t forget, so you can "CRUSH IT".
Plan ahead the night before to get your workout clothes ready, leave a written note on the stove in RED marker (one of my tips) so you’ll be ready to go.
If I left things to chance, I would probably never exercise or cook very many meals at home. Little reminder's and small notes of awareness will make a different.
We’re all busy, and have a million things to juggle, and this is why planning is so important to your success.
Even God tells us in Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, but to give you a future and a hope.
If you find yourself wondering what’s for dinner, and it’s 5:00 pm, you probably failed to plan. It happens to all of us, believe me. I’m not perfect either, but I plan things out a lot more now, and it’s a lot less stressful and a whole lot healthier.
One thing I always do is to keep plenty of apples and cucumbers on hand. Stock up on at least 1 healthy snack veggie and 1 healthy snack fruit like apples or blueberries.
(TIP) Busy days and nights might call for putting a meal together in the crockpot, or making salads in advance so you can bring it to work or have food ready when you get home.
On Saturday or Sunday, plan out your week and your menu so you can get to the grocery store to stock up on what you need for the week. Take 1 hour of your time or cook and freeze so you can grab & go during the week.
By taking just a little bit of extra time to plan, you can make sure that you always have healthy food choices at your fingertips, and you aren’t rushing to make the quick, convenient, highly-processed choices. In fact, those foods are the "TRIGGER FOODS" for most of us. They are a waste of money, and a waste of important nutrition that our bodies starve for and need.
What planning can you do this week that will help you stay on track, and accelerate your success?
