So here are a few safe and healthy ways to remove refined sugar and junk food from your diet with healthy options that you'll love. When I had out of control sugar cravings and wanted to give up sugar for good I didn’t know where to begin.
So in this video I want to tell you the top tips of the week that I use to give up sugar so you can stop craving it too! OK, Here are 5 tips to work on this week. My number one tip to stop craving sugar is eat oatmeal for breakfast. Why am I so big on oatmeal? The answer is because it will stabilize blood sugar and stabilize the need of feeling hungry due to the slow release process in the body.
This is your #1 food for all that including your need for fuel when you are active. I like oatmeal in many forms. For example I like eating oatmeal as granola cereal but it needs to be homemade not processed full of sugar and fat. I also love eating oatmeal ground up as flour to make muffins for breakfast to stop craving sugar throughout the day.
On the lighter side you can put one or 2 tablespoons of cooked oatmeal or dried oatmeal in a protein shake along with some nut butter as your breakfast for a quick and healthy option to keep you satisfied and to keep those sugar cravings away.
So stay away from pre-packaged cereals and process cereals and bread because they are the number one reasons why you and I crave sugar and junk food throughout the day. Every time we eat junk food, the body just wants more. Ever hear the term, “junk food junkie”? Another sugar detox tip that I used to quit eating sugar is eating fruit in the morning particularly those that are in the higher density fruit. For an example eat your bananas fresh pineapple and fresh apples in the morning. These fruit at full of nutrients giving your body more energy to carry you later on throughout the day..

How To Control Food Cravings| Overeating | Binge Eating
Rejection from being overweight or being told your just not good enough hurts deeply. I know because I was a victim of it. Like myself many overeaters discovered in childhood that binge eating junk food would soothed feelings of hurt, and sadness. I was lucky my Mom took me to overeaters anonymous at age 12 and I can tell you that just the Serenity Prayer alone was a Big help for me as it helped me to take time for self-examination.
Sadly, In some cases, parents are not available and are not capable or willing to take their kids for some kind of support. When we feel isolated, left out, and like no one seems to understand our problems then it is more likely that food will be used as a way to feel good or comforted. This is especially true for kids who have a mind of always thinking about the goodies. So, it's very possible our binge eating habits began because of the way we were brought up and we just did not learn about boundaries when it comes to food.
I know first hand that High carb foods and foods with high sugar content were foods that I craved the most because they worked best for me. These sugar cravings continued into adulthood when bad things happened. For many of us, the ups and downs in life result by binge eating or otherwise called compulsive overeating and we become unhealthy, obsesses and we experience sugar spikes of HIGH Blood sugar and depression.
It's common that when people hurt us we suffer from a lack of self-esteem and this was me for sure! But wait a minute! What does the bible say about our self-image once we accept God's love in our lives? When you grow in this understanding of who you are in Christ, you can let go of wrong thinking or any rejection from others. You can rise above the "blues" of depression and say with the Psalmist, “Why are you so downcast O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? For I will yet praise Him – my Savior and my Lord” (Psalm 42:5).

So, once you believe that you are valuable in God’s sight — you will start acting like it. You will assert yourself and set boundaries so people will treat you with the dignity someone made in God’s image deserves.You won't bring yourself down to someone else's level to be the bigger man or lower yourself to be more acceptable. You will be able to control binge eating habits. You will let go of the obsession with clothing, makeup, excessive exercise and adorning yourself hoping to impress others.
When it comes to binge eating we want to be able to control our cravings by eating healthy food and proper portions. We don't want to let our bad habits go on for too long that we suffer from a lack of nutrients that contribute to depression, diabetes, gallbladder disease, heart disease, and more.

Are You Craving Sugar or Afraid Of Feeling Deprived From Junk Food?

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
It happened to me the other day, just after the 4th of July. What about you? Have you been feeling deprived lately when you find yourself craving something sweet or does that salty crunchy snack keep calling you?
It happens to all of us at some point. We feel deprived after we decide to remove sugary foods like unhealthy carbohydrates from our eating plan. In fact, the last few days I have had anxiety from staying away from certain junk food and with sticking to a limited food plan. It’s almost like I just want to go for a good run to shake off the restlessness.
When I find myself dwelling on the foods i miss and love that I know will cause trouble with my health, I know I need an attitude fix. This is the kind of stuff I teach, because we rearly talk about “how to” stop cravings.
This is an inner struggle that I know as being my stinking thinking, as Joyce Meyers puts it. When I choose to lean on my own understanding in most instances, I am putting on unnecessary stress because i am allowing my thoughts and attitude to be controlled by the way I think of food. Truth is, if I keep on thinking of the foods that I miss I'll never find the freedom of peace of mind God wants me to have.
I hear an inner voice telling me to be thankful and to enjoy the foods that I CAN eat. I found myself imagining being on a deserted island and having to find food in order to survive. I could see myself falling to my knees on the beach and crying out to God to help me find food. “PLEASE God, I’m so hungry”.
Then I heard that still small voice in my heart guiding me where food can be found. And so I saw wonderful fruit and vegetables and perhaps some fish that'll nourish my body. Now as I was eating there is no time or space to even think of junk food or dreaming of driving up to a restaurant to grab something quick.
in fact I noticed i was even enjoying preparing the food, I felt so happy! As I was cooking I could see myself REJOICING, just knowing that I can then eat and feel full and satisfied. I could see the look of contentment on my face and much gratitude for all God has provided.
By leaning on the Lord and not my own understanding, God has blessed me with a new vision and a greater sense of Thanksgiving. The more this happens to me the more the sugar craving slip away on their own. If you have been able to give up any bad habit with the help of God, the same thing happens to craving sugar and foods that are bad for you. The sugar cravings slowly slip away. That’s why i love being a health coach, because I get to go through the life changing moments with you!
Now whenever I find myself dwelling on the things that I should not or cannot eat, I hear God’s voice telling me he wants to take care of me and that I need to be thankful for the things that I can eat.
Well I know one thing for sure. That Poor Cookie Monster, he’s stuck on that island...what is he gonna do now?
Prayer - For Today - I will acknowledge the Lord with all my heart and ask him to help me to not lean on my own understanding. I asked God to enable me to acknowledge him in all of my ways of deciding what to put in my mouth, and trust that God will make my path straight.
Thank you Lord for changing my attitude little by little...Amen
